Tien Kei Rui has conducted criminal trial and appeals as sole advocate.  He is also developing a broader practice in some areas of civil law, such as personal injuries, matrimonial and probate cases.

Prior joining the Bar in 2016, Tien Kei Rui was an Inspector with Customs and Excise Department and a Court Prosecutor with Department of Justice.  He served his pupillage with Mr. Peter Duncan SC, Mr. Richard Donald, Mr. Clement Lau and Mr. Alfred Cheng.

HKSAR v Lee Ka Fai and another DCCC 358/2017 
Sole defence advocate for the 2nd Defendant who was charged for 2 counts of blackmail and 1 count of false imprisonment; the defendant was eventually acquitted of all charges.
